WORMS!  WORMS! WORMS!

Today we had a fabulous visitor ‘Adrienne’ from Enviro Schools.  Together with Room 6 we shared what we have learnt about WORMS and how fantastic they are!  We also learnt and shared about..

-          Composting
-          How worms put goodness into the garden/earth - Sustainability
-          We looked at different types of worm farms and how they work.
-          Shared lots of prior knowledge about what we had already learnt about worms
-          We learnt about what worms do and how they help break down waste and some fun facts…..

DID YOU KNOW ….
-          Tiger worms eat about half their body weight a day
-          One worm can reproduce 1000 babies a year
-          One egg has about 4/5 babies inside it.           Can you see the egg?

We also got to touch the worms and the castings!
